WINTER CLOTHING PAYMENT

Posted by G Menzies - 1 week ago

Parents and carers are being encouraged to check if they are eligible for a Clothing Grant or Free School Meals.

Renfrewshire Council will pay a £50 Winter Clothing Payment to families who have applied for a Clothing Grant by Friday 23 October.

You could save up to £889.75 a year per secondary school pupil by applying for both a Clothing Grant and Free School Meals.

Anyone on Universal Credit can earn up to £995 per month and still be eligible.

Holiday payments are also made by the Council to cover free school meals. Payments are £2.45 per day per child. They cover the October, Christmas, February, Easter and summer holidays.

Anyone who has already applied for a Clothing Grant or Free School Meals for this school year (2026–27) does not need to apply again.

Apply for clothing grants and free school meals.
