British Airways Work Experience

The applications for the British Airways Work Experience opportunities for Jan- December 2026 are now open.

 The deadline to apply is 25th September.

Work Experience Placement – Glasgow Engineering 

Duration: 5 Days 

Location: British Airways Maintenance Glasgow 

Application closing date: 25th September 2025 

Placement Dates: 5-day placements on various dates between January – March 2026.

Work Experience Placement – Glasgow Engineering 

Below are the dates that the placements will be running. Please only submit an application if you are available to attend at least one of these weeks. Once the vacancy has closed, you will receive a form asking you to select which of the below weeks you can attend the work experience. Your application will be screened against those who have provided the same availability for the week/weeks you select.

About you

·         Passionate about engineering, the airline and our business 

·         Good communication skills 

·         Strong organisation and prioritization 

Applying for a placement 

The British Airways Work Experience Programme is aimed at full time students, either at school or college. 

To apply for work experience, you must be: 

·         S4 or above 

·         Have a valid passport 

·         In full time education in school or college (not university) 

You can live anywhere in the UK to apply for work experience, however this in-person placement will be held at British Airways Maintenance Glasgow. Please ensure if you are successful in your application, that you are willing to travel to Glasgow for the duration of your placement. 

Recruitment Process 

Step 1: Register for our student platform Speedbird-Z – https://britishairways.connectr.co.uk/inspire 

Step 2: Explore which area of British Airways you’d like to gain an insight into (do your research and speak to our mentors!)

Step 4: Apply via the British Airways careers website  

Step 5: We will review all applications for eligibility, let you know via email if you have been successful and confirm next steps and dates of placement  

Please note, you can only apply for one programme, so choose the area you are most excited to learn more about. You cannot complete more than one work experience placement. 

Top Tip: We are looking for applications that show enthusiasm towards the industry!
